Children at Crawford are passionate learners, curious about the world around them. They are ambitious and determined for themselves. Children have a positive attitude to learning – they are reflective and understand that mistakes are a way to learn and do not get deterred by setbacks.  When children leave, they are confident and ready for their next stage of learning as they have gained the necessary knowledge and skills required. Crawford is an inclusive school; we believe all children can progress, achieve and contribute something of real value. We recognise the uniqueness of individual learners and support them to achieve their personal best.

At Crawford, children are respectful to themselves and to others. We aim for all children to be happy, confident and resilient members of their community, who feel seen and heard and able to make a positive contribution. Children leave our school tolerant and open-minded members of society. Children at Crawford celebrate what makes them each unique – we embrace diversity - understanding what it means to be part of an equitable society. They learn to look at situations from different perspectives to develop their understanding and compassion. We broaden children’s horizons through a wealth of experiences which expand their understanding of the world and their place in it.  

 
Emotionally Resilient 

We want children to have a positive sense of self and good mental health. We are relational in our approach - we believe in forming strong connections with children from the beginning of their journey to help them grow in confidence, independence and resilience. We aim for all children to be able to recognise, communicate and manage the full spectrum of emotions and to know how they can keep themselves emotionally well and safe. We teach children to be effective communicators, who feel empowered to use their voice in appropriate and respectful ways in a variety of contexts. Children form supportive friendships and deal with conflict in effective and healthy ways.
