SAFEGUARDING

Crawford is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for children, staff and visitors. We promote a climate where children and adults feel confident about sharing any concerns, which they may have about their own safety or well-being of others.

Crawford aims to safeguard and promote the welfare of the children by protecting them from maltreatment: preventing impairment of a child (s) health or development, ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care and taking action to enable all children have the best outcomes.

Guidelines for staff/visitors

If you think a child is in need because they are suffering from harm you must do the following:

Act quickly and share the information with your Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSL). If you are unable to locate a DSL please report to the school office and they will assist you in locating a DSL.

All concerns must be reported before leaving the school premises.

  • Make a record of what you have seen or been told; be factual.

  • Make a record of any visible injuries.

  • Do not make assumptions.

  • Only ask simple questions:

    • Who? What? Where? When?

  • Never promise to keep 'secrets'.

  • Report any concerns relating to the conduct of staff/visitors to the Headteacher immediately.
